Required software

SoftSDC needs:

  • Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime. The installer adds it if it is missing.
  • .NET Framework 4.7.2 or newer. Most Windows 10 and 11 PCs already have it.

The installer guides you through any missing components.

Why administrator rights are needed

The installer needs administrator rights to:

  • Register the background service
  • Add firewall exceptions
  • Install the runtime libraries

Network and firewall

The installer adds Windows Firewall exceptions for you. For manual setup or a company firewall, allow:

  • Outbound HTTPS (port 443) for license checks and the Tax Authority
  • Local HTTP on port 8431 (or the port you set) for the API

The license server addresses are listed in system requirements.

Background service

The SoftSDC service:

  • Starts with Windows
  • Runs even when no user is signed in
  • Keeps the API available for your POS
  • Processes invoices in the background

You can manage it in Services (services.msc).

Antivirus

  • Add SoftSDC and its installation folder to your antivirus exclusions.
  • Allow network connections for SoftSDC.

Keep it running well

  • Close apps you do not need, to free memory.
  • Keep at least 10% of the disk free.
  • Install Windows updates.
  • Use a USB 3.0 port for the reader when you can.

Problems on Windows are covered in troubleshooting.

When your PC is ready, follow the installation guide.
